1. What inspires you when you begin a design scheme?

The color scheme is based on what flatters the client which often spills over to the colors they typically wear. This boils down to a summer, spring, fall, or winter color palette customized for them.

2. What is the best accessory to complete a room?

Sculpture and Paintings

3. The secret to styling a mantel?

I love to keep it simple with a large gorgeous painting. All paintings should be as large as possible in order to create strong focal points.

4. Designer pet peeve?

Bad lighting. I hate when lighting blinds people or is not highlighting the focal points in the room. I have been known to adjust spotlights on a whim. Dimmers on all lighting is a must in rooms for entertaining and bedrooms.

5. Without fail design hint that you have learned over your career?

Mix newly manufactured clean lines with natural textures and fabrics or art with a hand painted feel. The mix creates depth and warmth.
